Geri started tinkering with computers at the early age of 12, and kept doing so through his high school years and as an instructor at the Israeli Air Force Academy. In the mid 90’s, when the Internet was still in its early stages, Geri decided to study Communications (Radio and Television Journalism) and Computer science in order to work with the emerging field of multimedia by mixing those 3 platforms (Audio, video and computers). As the Internet evolved, the 90’s concept of multimedia contributed to today’s “New Media.”
With several years in the media, almost 20 years of working with advanced technologies and working with multi-billion dollar companies, today Geri is utilizing his technical and marketing skills to help businesses learn more about New Media, how to market themselves online and build online communities. Geri has delivered presentations about new media marketing at the Art Institute of Houston, the Houston Technology Center and more, and was featured in the Houston Chronicle about social media.
Some of the companies Geri has helped boost online presence and build online communities are: Linux Journal, Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, and other local small businesses. Geri is also the co-founder of the first Houston Wine Conference, a wine conference that sold out attendance and was mainly promoted by using different online tools.
Geri was an AIR Houston 2007 award winner, since then he joined the AIR board as a member, judge and later also as a head judge.
